MAUSOLEUM

This mausoleum is more than a place of remembrance – it is a unique testament to times gone by, a silent guardian of stories, and an indispensable part of Vienna's cultural heritage. The architecture by Erich Leischner reflects an era in which elegance and durability merged in perfect harmony. Every ornament, every detail speaks of craftsmanship whose finesse is rarely achieved today.

Yet, the passing years have left their mark: moisture has dulled the luster of the materials, and the light that once filled the space now remains subdued.

The proposed project emphasizes gentle care to restore the dignity of the mausoleum. Painting the walls in a subtle cream tone would create a clean, serene foundation that highlights the artistic windows crafted by Carl Geyling’s Erben, a traditional Viennese company.

The blue accents that recur in the room’s handcrafted details could symbolize the sky in the niches, lending the mausoleum an air of lightness and a sense of infinity. Complemented by a timeless urn cabinet that harmoniously integrates into the space and engages in dialogue with the bench opposite, the room would be newly balanced in both function and design.

Subtle lighting could banish the darkness, allowing the artistic details, delicate embellishments, and exquisite materials to shine anew.

Thus, a space would emerge that honors the past, offers solace in the present, and remains open to the future – a place where memories and art merge in perfect harmon
