HEMMA GARTEN
The St. Hemma Bio-Urn Cemetery is a place of quiet remembrance. A wall links the bell tower and church, uniting vertical and horizontal elements to provide orientation and harmony. Thoughtful landscaping with cherry trees and climbing hydrangeas shields the site from the street, creating a serene retreat for mourning and reflection. Timeless materials, gravel, reflective stainless steel, and warm wooden accents, offer calm and comfort. Two spaces serve distinct purposes: one for communal farewells, the other for intimate burials. A horizontal line at eye level displays the metal name plaques of the deceased, quietly anchoring memory. Subtle, indirect lighting integrated into the concrete walls softly illuminates paths, enhancing the contemplative atmosphere.
